REVIEW
INTRODUCTION
With over 240 participants from over 124 organisations in the high
security printing industry attending from around the world, this was the
largest Cross Conference to date.
The Honorary Sponsor of the Conference was Gleitsmann Security Inks, the
Gala Dinner was sponsored by Drent Goebel, and the Conference Name badges
were sponsored by Austria Card.
PRESENTATIONS
The 2 day conference was opened by Hr Hubert Schute, Secretary of
Finance for the City of Berlin and included 27 presentations from leading
specialists in the industry with simultaneous English/Russian translation.
The sessions ranged from "Developments in Security Printing and Finishing"
to "New Passport and Travel Document Applications". Organisations
making presentations included:
EXHIBITION
Again this was the largest in Cross Conferences' history and proved very
popular with all Delegates. The Exhibition area featured displays and
literature from 37 companies within the industry and provided excellent
opportunities for suppliers and end-users to meet.
SOCIAL EVENTS/TOUR
The social events included the Welcome Cocktail Reception and a Gala
Dinner evening at the Fredrichstadpalast. On Friday, many Delegates visited
Bundesdruckerei’s Biometrics demonstration facility, and Gleitsmann Security
Inks Factory, with finger buffet, before taking complimentary coaches
directly to one Berlin’s two airports. (This third day was a free option for
all Delegates). All proved extremely popular and were enjoyed by the
Delegates and their partners. These events were useful opportunities for
extended networking and were well attended.
